Restore your Glycogen levels with this Fruity-licious Salad. A kid’s favorite >>
If you don’t know what Glycogen is, give it a quick read here.
I made this fruit salad after a long long long walk and WOD at the gym. Perfect to restore my glycogen levels. If you are not exercising as regularly then treat this salad as a dessert. Seriously. It’s really good but I rather eat it once in a while or so if I am sedentary. MY KIDS LOVE FRUIT and since they never really indulge on sugary stuff I often reward their day by mixing some extra yumminess in it.
It is important to know that if you want to lose weight on the paleo diet, you want to take your fruit intake down to one serving a day. Berries are your best choice when it comes down to selection. Thereafter melons, apples, citrus. All good choices. Bananas, mangos and pineapples are high in fructose. Just don’t eat a whole melon!
As for your kids. You don’t want to restrict their calorie intake. Let them eat fruit as much as they want. Just watch them carefully if you notice any sudden sugar spikes. I have noticed that if I give my kids fruit later in the day it leads to craving issues.
I hope you enjoy this fruit salad as much as I did. Believe me. It was delicious!
